Create An Unrouted Trip

With unrouted places, you can create trips full of suggestions, collections, or optional places for your epic trips!

This feature can be used in a variety of ways: organizing places you've visited, storing places for an upcoming trip, adding seasonally closed road waypoints, ferry travel, or creating a list of options in a given area. This can be handy when deciding which places are truly worth visiting when you’re on your trip.

Unrouted waypoints can also be helpful when there are places in your trip you'd like to visit but don't necessarily want to add to your driving route. For example: if you’ve driven to New York City and want to explore on foot, you may not need every stop to appear on your route and affecting your gas cost and time estimates.

  1. Open your trip on the map/trip planner. Note that by default, all trips start as routed trips. RoutedTrip.jpg

  2. Simply toggle the route switch next to the corresponding waypoint in the Trip Planner to remove the waypoint from your route.Switch.jpg

  3. After toggling this switch, your trip route will immediately update on the map.
