Measure Drive Time From Waypoints

If you know how far you're willing or able to travel until you need to stop for an overnight or take a break at a rest area or restaurant, then Roadtrippers can help you find a place to stop! You tell us how far you want to drive from a waypoint in your trip, and we'll show you where to look for a stop along your route.

This feature is currently only available on the Roadtrippers website and is not yet supported in the mobile app.

Keep reading below to learn how to measure from waypoints, or watch a short video tutorial to see it in action.

Measuring from the Itinerary

  1. With your trip itinerary open, click the down arrow on a waypoint to expand the waypoint card.

Helpful Details

  • One measurement at a time: If you measure from a new waypoint, your previous measurement will be replaced. It's not possible to set multiple measurements at the same time
  • Decimal support: You can enter up to two decimal points (e.g., 5.5 or 5.25 hours instead of 6).
  • Edit a measurement: Click the 3 dots (...) on the expanded waypoint card and select "Edit Measurement", or click the measurement pin on the map.
  • Remove a measurement: Open the Edit Measurement window and click "Remove measurement from route".
  • Waypoints must be routed: You cannot measure from waypoints that are not part of the driving route. Ensure the routed toggle is on in order to use the measure feature.
  • Clearer map view: If you want a better view of cities and towns, try toggling Places OFF in your map settings. This will remove general place suggestions, making it easier to see the area surrounding your measurement pin.
