Whether you're just getting started or have your entire itinerary mapped out, our Add Dates feature will keep you on track! Simply enter your trip's start and end dates, and we'll automatically sort everything by date.
To add dates to your trip, open the trip itinerary then click or tap the Add Dates button at the top of the trip itinerary and enter your start and end dates.
After you add dates, you'll be asked if you would like to keep your trip public, or set it to private. You can learn more about privacy settings and how they affect visibility here.
After setting a date range for your trip, we'll schedule your existing stops with a suggested date. Don't worry - you can easily adjust the date afterward! When you want to add more stops you can either let Roadtrippers insert it where we think makes sense or you can add the stop directly to a date of your choosing.

Our website offers the most tools for managing trip dates, so if dates are important to you, we recommend making edits there! Changes in dates will show when you open your trip on the app later.
Let Us Suggest a Date
Click "Add to Trip" in the left dock and select "Add a Waypoint". Type in a location then choose it from the dropdown list. We'll add the waypoint to your trip on a suggested date!
Add Directly to a Date
With dates saved to your trip, you'll also see a blue circle + (add waypoint) button to the right of the date on each day or date range segment of your itinerary. Click the blue circle + button shown there to open the search field, where you can type in a place you want to add and select it from the list, or use our Autopilot suggestion tool if you are a Premium member. The new waypoint will be added directly to your chosen date within the trip.
If you click Add next to an empty segment of multiple days, the waypoint will be added to one of the dates within that range using our date-assigning logic and you can move it to another date afterward.
Edit Waypoint Dates
There are a few ways to update the dates on your trip!
To adjust your trip’s date range, click Edit Dates on your Itinerary. Select a new start date, and your entire trip will automatically shift to match!
Extending your trip
If you want to add a day or days to the end of your trip, simply update the date of any existing waypoint to the new date you’d like your trip to end. This will automatically extend your trip and update your final date. You can always rearrange your waypoints afterward, so don’t worry if you don’t actually plan to visit that waypoint on your new final day!
Editing a date range can only be done on our website (maps.roadtrippers.com) currently, although we plan to add this function to the app soon. If you're on mobile, open maps.roadtrippers.com in a web browser to use this feature!
Shifting stops between dates
If you're looking to move a few stops to a new day, click and grab the waypoint and you can drag and drop the within the itinerary.
Alternatively, you can click the waypoint name to open the waypoint details and change the date there.
Insert a Date
To add a day to your itinerary, click "Add to Trip" in the left dock and select "Insert a Day."
This will shift all the following dates and waypoints by one day. It's perfect if your plans change or if decide you want to spend an extra day somewhere.

Remove Dates
If dates are applied to your trip and you want to remove them, click Edit dates then click Remove trip dates. Removing dates cannot be undone, but you can add new dates later!
You'll be asked to confirm you want to clear dates. If yes, click Clear. If not, click Cancel to go back to your trip.
Daily Totals
If dates are applied to your trip, you'll see a daily totals line under each date so that you can easily see how many stops are scheduled, as well as the estimated distance and driving time for that day.

Tap the big blue floating Add a Waypoint button at the bottom of your itinerary to open the "Add a place" search field, type the place you want to add, and select it from the list. We'll automatically add it to your trip with a suggested date.

To move a waypoint to a different date, you can drag and drop the waypoint within the itinerary as shown below. Alternatively, you ca tap the waypoint card or tap the pencil icon on an expanded waypoint to open the waypoint details and change the date there.
Hide Empty Days
If you've got empty dates on your trip and you would prefer those empty date boxes are not visible, you can hide those by tapping the Hide Empty Days button at the top of your itinerary:

Heads Up!
Empty date boxes and the Add Stops And Discover Recommendations helper cannot be removed from your itinerary on our website. However, once you add stops to that day, the helper will disappear automatically. If you're using our app, you can hide empty dates using the Hide Empty Dates tool at the top of the itinerary.
