Roadtrippers Autopilot™ is an AI-powered trip planning tool available for Premium members! Autopilot will plan your next adventure with our curated AI technology based on real traveler experiences.
When you start planning a new trip from the Roadtrippers website or mobile app, select the "Plan it for me" option. You'll be asked to answer the following questions and then Autopilot will generate a trip for you!
- Where are you adventuring? Tell us where you're starting from, where you're going to, and whether you want a round trip or one-way.
- When are you traveling? Set the dates for when you're traveling and how far you want to drive each day. For long trips, we'll suggest where and when to stay overnight.
- What are you driving? Select a vehicle that's already saved to your profile or add a new one. We'll use that information to estimate your fuel price and customize the route.
- Who will be traveling? Let us know who's traveling and we'll look for places for the whole crew.
- Where do you want to stay? Choose your preferred type of accommodation and set a price range.
- Where do you want to eat? Choose your type of place and set a price range.
- What kind of activities do you want to do? Choose your preferred type of activity and set a price range.
If you're open to anything, the "most popular" option for where to stay, places to eat, and things to do may be a good option for you!
Remember to review and confirm details about your trip such as visiting hours, booking availability, pet restrictions, and road closures before you hit the road.
After your trip is generated, if you're using our website, you can ask for new suggestions for each waypoint on your trip. If you're using our app, you'll have the option to ask for a different trip and modify your inputs.
After your trip is generated, if you click the waypoint expand tool, then click the Sparkle symbol next to any waypoint, you'll be given the option to replace this stop or tell us that you like this recommendation.
Select replace this stop and you'll get several Autopilot recommendations nearby.
Select the recommendation you like and it will replace the original recommendation on your trip. You can still delete the waypoint later using the 3 dots next to the waypoint!
After your trip is generated, look for the "Not sure about this trip?" banner at the top of your itinerary and select "Back to Autopilot" to quickly go back and generate another trip with the same or new preferences.
Note that this banner will go away after you make any changes to the trip, such as adding or removing waypoints, and then you'll need to start a new trip to launch Autopilot again.
