If you already have a Basic or Pro membership and you want to upgrade to a higher tier for additional benefits, then you're in the right place!
You can upgrade your membership at any time to immediately gain access to more features. The cost will be prorated, meaning you'll only pay the difference, ensuring the amount you've already paid for your current membership isn’t lost. Apple handles this a little differently, more on that in the Apple section below.
Upgrading your Roadtrippers membership is easy, but the steps depend on where you originally purchased it: our website, the Apple App Store, or Google Play Store.
This guide is divided into sections based on the platform where your membership was purchased. Click the appropriate section below to learn more about managing your membership on the specific platform where you made the purchase.
If you are unsure where you purchased your membership, please contact us and let us know the email and/or username on your Roadtrippers member account and we'll point you in the right direction!
Roadtrippers Website
If you purchased a Roadtrippers subscription on our website, you can upgrade your subscription from your Profile Settings on our website.
- Go to https://roadtrippers.com/ and click your profile icon in the top right.
- Click the Edit Profile button.
- Go to the Subscription Details section.

Click the Manage your plan link.
- Enter your email address to request a sign-in link for our billing portal.
- After signing into the billing portal, click Update Plan and choose the membership tier you want to switch to. You'll be upgraded immediately and charged a prorated amount for the price difference based on the time remaining on your current membership. Your renewal date will remain the same as it was originally.
Apple App Store / iOS App

You'll be upgraded immediately and will pay full price for the new membership. Your new membership will be active for a year from the date of your upgrade. Afterward, you'll receive a refund for the remainder of your original subscription.
Rather than charging a prorated amount, Apple charges full price and then issues a prorated refund.

Open the Settings app.

Tap your name, then tap Subscriptions.

Tap the Roadtrippers subscription.

Tap See All Plans, then follow the onscreen instructions to complete your purchase.

- Open the App Store app.
- Click your name. If you can't find your name, click Sign In.
- Click Account Settings.
- Scroll to Subscriptions, then click Manage.
- Click the Roadtrippers subscription.
- Click See All Plans. Then, follow the instructions on the screen to complete your purchase.
Google Play Store / Android App

You'll be upgraded immediately and charged a prorated amount for the price difference based on the time remaining on your current membership. Your renewal date will remain the same as it was originally.
In the Roadtrippers app:
Select something that requires a higher membership level, such as a locked trip or a Premium map layer under the map layers icon shown below. After selecting a locked feature, follow the prompts to upgrade in the app.
- Open the Google Play app

- At the top right, tap the profile icon.
- Tap Payments & subscriptions
Subscriptions.
- Select the Roadtrippers subscription.
- Follow the instructions.

- At the top right, click your profile icon.
- Click Payments & subscriptions.
- Next to the Roadtrippers subscription, select Manage.
