Seeing an email like xxxxxxxxxxx@privaterelay.appleid.com on your account?
If you used “Sign in with Apple” along with Apple’s “Hide My Email” feature when signing up, your account is likely linked to an Apple Relay email. This is a randomly generated alias that forwards messages to your real inbox while keeping your personal email address hidden.
This feature is designed to protect your privacy, but it can be confusing if you're not aware it's enabled. If you’d prefer not to use it, you may want to disable it. You can view and manage these relay addresses in Settings > Apple ID > Sign in & Security > Apps Using Apple ID.
Here's how you can check if your Roadtrippers account uses an Apple Relay email for sign in, and look up the email address that was used:
On your iPhone or iPad:
- Open the Settings app, then tap your name to view your Apple ID settings.
- Tap Sign In & Security.
- Tap Sign in with Apple or Apps Using Apple ID.
- If Roadtrippers is listed, tap Roadtrippers.
- The Apple Relay Email will be displayed under This App Received. It will follow a format similar to: xxxxxxxxxxx@privaterelay.appleid.com.
On your desktop or laptop:
- Sign in to appleid.apple.com.
- Go to Sign in & Security.
- Click Sign in with Apple.
- If Roadtrippers is listed, click Roadtrippers.
- The Apple Relay Email will show under Hide My Email. It will follow a format similar to: xxxxxxxxxxx@privaterelay.appleid.com.
